Picnic and Hoops
There is an association park up the road where you can grill, shoot some hoops or have a game of horse.
Less than a mile from the cottage is "The Big Bear Lake Pathway" hiking trail. This 2.2 mile trail is a great way to view the natural habitat.
There are plenty of trails around the LBBC. "The North Branch Trail" connects to all the major snowmobile trails.
State land surrounds the LBBC. In these areas you will find plenty of wildlife including turkey and deer. There is also a shooting range less than a mile from the LBBC. Here, you can sight in your rifle, shoot some clay, or blast some water filled milk jugs! Just make sure you pick up your spent brass and shrapnel!
Horseback Riding
Liberty Valley Ranch (4301 Hayes Tower Road, Gaylord, MI 49735) is located 8 miles west of Gaylord and about 30 minutes from the LBBC. They require an appointment. They charge $25 an hour per person. Phone number is 989.731.0149.
Skiing and Golfing
Known as the "Golf Mecca of the Midwest", the Gaylord area is a golfer's paradise! Only 20 minutes away, Treetops provides PGA class golfing along with world class skiing. They lay claim to Michigan's Longest half-pipe.
